Throwback Thursday (9-28-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is the last installment of Fried Chicken Month.  This photo was taken at a Bojangles' Famous Chicken 'n Biscuits in Virginia while my friends and I were driving to the Outer Banks for vacation in 2013.  Bojangles' has some of the best fried chicken around in addition to delicious chicken sammiches and biscuits.  That was a good meal.

National Drink Beer Day

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy National Drink Beer Day!  I hope all you adults get a chance to have a cold one sometime today...but do drink responsibly.

I hear the best place to get a great beer at is LC's Saloon.  What a classy joint LC's is plus the bartender/owner is one of smartest and best looking guys around. :-)

This month's photo is of the monument to the First Vermont Brigade.  The Brigade was held in reserve during the Battle of Gettysburg (stationed near Little Round Top) but during the course of the Civil War had the highest casualty count in the history of the United States Army.  Here is a link to learn more about the actions of the First Vermont Brigade during the Civil War:

Phanatic Attempts to Woo Dodgers Sideline Reporter Alanna Rizzo

Hi everybody,

Throughout the Phillies-Dodgers series, the Phillie Phanatic has been attempting to woo Dodgers sideline reporter Alanna Rizzo (Phillie Phanatic Finally Got A Date With Alanna Rizzo).  The Phanatic used his incredible charm throughout the series but Ms. Rizzo seemed uninterested.

The Phanatic finally got Ms. Rizzo to agree to a lunch date with the best mascot in baseball yesterday and he went all out on trying to impress her.

Unfortunately things went downhill for the Phanatic from there.

Whoops...

True love???

Not sure if the Phanatic will get another date but Alanna Rizzo was definitely a good sport.

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is another chapter of Fried Chicken Month and is picture of the rainy day that I was in Thurmont, Maryland.  Thurmont is important because they have a Roy Rogers...which has some of the best fried chicken around.  You can be certain that I ate a lot of chicken on that otherwise dreary day.

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment continues Fried Chicken Month with a photo of some delicious Royal Farms fried chicken.  My friends and I discovered this delicious chicken during a road trip into Delaware and now we are sure to pick some up every time we visit the First State.

Lucky for us...Royal Farms is expanding so soon we will not have to travel as far to get this great meal as there will be locations around Philly and in South Jersey.

Phils Eliminated From Post-Season Play

Uggh...
Hi everybody,

Just wanted to let you know that the Phils were officially eliminated from post-season play this weekend.  This will mark the sixth straight season of not reaching the playoffs after making it five years in a row (with 5-straight NL East Titles) from 2007-2011. Even though we assumed since the beginning of the season that this was going to happen, it still stinks.
