Throwback Thursday (8-11-22)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from a few years back when my friends got me Topps cards that commemorated when Chase first returned to Philly after being traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.  These were limited release cards that are a treasured part of my collection.

Happy Birthday Ann Onymous

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to wish my good friend and occasional blog poster Ann Onymous a very Happy Birthday!  Although she has repeatedly tricked me so she can put up (as she calls them) "hot" pictures of my hero Chase Utley.....she's a really great person who gets me lots of food and is one of my best friends.  Happy Birthday, Ann Onymous!!!

Alumni Weekend - Celebration of 2009 National League Championship Team

Hi everybody,

Alumni Weekend concluded earlier today with a pregame ceremony honoring the Phillies 2009 National League Championship team.  Almost all the members of the 2009 team were in attendance and Cole Hamels provided a video message to their teammates and the fans.  It was great to see the 2009 team again and it makes me want to watch some 2009 Phils baseball.

Ryan Howard Retirement Day

Hi everybody,

Former Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard officially retired as a Phillie on Sunday (July 14th) and was honored before the game against the Washington Nationals.  The Phils gifted Big Piece with a beautiful painting of Howard after he hit the first of three home run in a single game.  There was also a cool tribute video of Howard's playing accomplishments.  Many former Phils players and coaches were in attendance to celebrate Howard's amazing career.

After Howard gave his speech he got to throw out the first pitch to his son.

I look forward to the day in a couple years when Ryan get inducted onto the Phillies Wall of Fame.  I also hope that a Baseball Hall of Fame induction and retirement of his number 6 by the Phils also occurs.

Congrats on an amazing career, Big Piece!

Chase Utley Retirement Night

Hi everybody,

Former Phillies second baseman, icon  and my hero Chase Utley officially retired as a Phillie on Friday (June 21st) and was honored before the game against the Miami Marlins.  The Phils gifted The Man with a custom painted glove showing some of his career highlights as well as a cool tribute video.  Many former Phils players and coaches were in attendance to celebrate Chase's amazing career.

After Chase gave his speech (https://www.mlb.com/phillies/video/utley-s-retirement-ceremony), he got to throw out the first pitch to a long-time fan who has always wanted to play catch with him....Mac from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Finally gonna play catch...

I look forward to the day in a couple years when Chase get inducted onto the Phillies Wall of Fame.  I also hope that a Baseball Hall of Fame induction and retirement of his number 26 by the Phils also occurs.

I just want to add that this blog would have never started if it wasn't for my love of Chase and the Phillies so thank you to Chase and the Phils for that.

Congrats on an amazing career, Chase!

Throwback Thursday (11-22-18)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from a few years ago when my good friend Ann Onymous bought me a few cupcakes.  I thought it was just a nice gift but I later learned that she was just buttering me up before posting another Ladies' Night photo of Chase on the blog.  I should have been sore at her but those cupcakes were just too good.

Phillies Schedule Retirement Ceremony Games For Three Phils Legends

Hi everybody,

Earlier today the Phillies announced three special retirement game ceremonies during the 2019 Season for Phils legends Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley (My Hero) and Ryan Howard.  The games will take place on May 4th (Jimmy Rollins), June 21st (Chase Utley) and July 14th (Ryan Howard).  These games will be so great to see the core pieces of the 2007-2011 run of success retire as Phillies.  I'm so looking forward to it.  Congrats to J-Roll, The Man and Big Piece!

A Toast To My Hero Chase Utley

Hi everybody,

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the World Series to the Boston Red Sox four games to one last night (October 28th) so the playing career of former Phillie (and my hero) Chase Utley has come to an end.  I just wanted to tip my cap and raise a glass to Chase for an amazing career.  If it wasn't for Chase and Bleacher Creatures...I would have never started writing this blog, tweeting on Twitter or posting pictures on Instagram.  I am so happy that Chase can finally come home to the Phillies!  You will always be The Man, Chase!  Cheers!!!

Cheers to a great career, Chase!!!

The Phillies Won the World Series 10 Years Ago Today

Most of 2008 Team From Alumni Weekend

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to acknowledge the ten year anniversary of the Phillies 2008 World Series victory over the Tampa Bay Rays.  I remember that night like it was yesterday.  What a great time that was.  I hope we all get to enjoy another Phils World Series win in the coming seasons.

Chase Utley is Going Back to the World Series Again

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to congratulate my hero (and Phillies Legend) Chase Utley for going back to the World Series again with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers won the National League Championship last night (October 20th) for the second straight year by beating the Milwaukee Brewers in seven games and will be facingthe American League Champion Boston Red Sox.  Although it is unlikely that Chase will be on the Dodgers World Series roster since he hasn't be on any of the Dodgers playoff rosters this season....I still hope Chase gets one last World Series ring.
