A Toast To My Hero Chase Utley

Hi everybody,

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the World Series to the Boston Red Sox four games to one last night (October 28th) so the playing career of former Phillie (and my hero) Chase Utley has come to an end.  I just wanted to tip my cap and raise a glass to Chase for an amazing career.  If it wasn't for Chase and Bleacher Creatures...I would have never started writing this blog, tweeting on Twitter or posting pictures on Instagram.  I am so happy that Chase can finally come home to the Phillies!  You will always be The Man, Chase!  Cheers!!!

Cheers to a great career, Chase!!!

Chase Utley is Going Back to the World Series Again

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to congratulate my hero (and Phillies Legend) Chase Utley for going back to the World Series again with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers won the National League Championship last night (October 20th) for the second straight year by beating the Milwaukee Brewers in seven games and will be facingthe American League Champion Boston Red Sox.  Although it is unlikely that Chase will be on the Dodgers World Series roster since he hasn't be on any of the Dodgers playoff rosters this season....I still hope Chase gets one last World Series ring.

Chase Utley Given Rocking Chair From Dodger Teammates

Hi everybody,

Although my hero Chase Utley has not been part of the Dodgers playoff roster for either the NLDS or NLCS...he was given a customized rocking chair by his teammates last week to celebrate the end of his playing career.  It looks like the rocker is pretty comfortable and it was cool of the Dodgers to include the Phillies logo on it.

Time to Put My Phils Jersey Away

Hi everybody,

With the 2018 season coming to a close...it's time for me to put my Phillies jersey away.  Will still be watching playoff baseball and rooting for Chase & Cole as well as watching other Philly sports but this time of year is always a little sad for me.  I'll miss watching the Phils every night.

We'll still have some fun on the blog though and before you know it...it will be time to put that Phils jersey back on again.

See you in 2019, Phillies....

Phillies Get Fourteenth Pick in 2019 MLB Draft

Hi everybody,

The Phillies will be receiving the fourteenth pick in the 2019 MLB Draft due to their 80-82 record.  I hope this pick in next year's draft will help the Phils in a few seasons when they will hopefully be contenders again.

2018 NL East Final Standings

Hi everybody,

Here are the final standings for the NL East this season:

NL East                                    W         L       PCT        GB

Atlanta Braves                         90        72      .556        --
Washington Nationals            82        80      .506         8
Philadelphia Phillies               80        82      .494        10
New York Mets                         77        85      .475        13
Miami Marlins                          63        98      .391       26.5*

* The Marlins only played 161 games this season

The Phillies ended the season with fourteen more wins than last season.  The season started with great promise and the Phils were in first place and fifteen games above .500 in early August but a two month slump erased all that.  Although they ended up finishing in third place in the division...I still think things are looking up for the Phils in 2019 and beyond.
