This month's Gettysburg photo is of the monument to the 15th New York Battery located near the Peach Orchard. The Peach Orchard was the scene of heavy fighting on the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg. There are many other monuments in the background including the Pennsylvania Memorial (right side of the photo).
I'm once again breaking the rules for this month's Gettysburg photo by showing another picture I found online of Gettysburg Square (photo taken by Susan Grove) during the Christmas season.
This month's Gettysburg photo is a shot of the Farnsworth House street sign. The Farnsworth House is a restaurant and hotel that is reportedly haunted. I have never stayed at the hotel but have eaten there several times.
This month's Gettysburg photo is a shot of the monument on Cemetery Ridge dedicated to Union Major General Winfield Scott Hancock. Hancock was seriously wounded on July 3rd defending the center of the Union line against the Confederate offensive known as Pickett's Charge.
