This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from one my first trips to Gettysburg when I stayed at the old Quality Inn that was torn down several years ago. Since this photo was taken, all of the area behind me has been restored to the way it looked during the Battle of Gettysburg.
This week's Throwback Thursday moment is another photo from my first trip to Gettysburg in 2012. This picture was taken at Devil's Den where fierce fighting occurred between Union and Confederate forces during the second day of The Battle of Gettysburg on July 2nd, 1863.
This month's Gettysburg photo is of the monument to the 15th New York Battery located near the Peach Orchard. The Peach Orchard was the scene of heavy fighting on the second day of the Battle of Gettysburg. There are many other monuments in the background including the Pennsylvania Memorial (right side of the photo).
This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from my trip to Gettysburg in April 2017 and was taken at General Lee's Headquarters. This was after the old Quality Inn was torn down and the land was restored to its 1863 appearance.
I'm once again breaking the rules for this month's Gettysburg photo by showing another picture I found online of Gettysburg Square (photo taken by Susan Grove) during the Christmas season.
This month's Gettysburg photo is a shot of the Farnsworth House street sign. The Farnsworth House is a restaurant and hotel that is reportedly haunted. I have never stayed at the hotel but have eaten there several times.
