Jerome Williams Makes Baseball History

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting pitcher Jerome Williams made baseball history yesterday (September 20th) when he beat the Oakland Athletics for the third time this season while being on three different ball clubs.  The first win came on April 26th with the Houston Astros.  The second win happened on July 25th with the Texas Rangers. Congrats to Jerome Williams for this historic achievement.

Ken Giles Gets First Career Save

Joe Blanton Retires

Hi everybody,

I'm sorry that I didn't post this earlier but better late than never I suppose.  Former Phils starting pitcher Joe Blanton announced his retirement on April 13th. Blanton pitched for the Phillies from July 17, 2008 (traded from the Oakland A's) until August 3, 2012 (traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers).  Blanton was part of the 2008 World Championship team and even hit a Home Run during Game 4 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays.  Good luck in the future Mr. Blanton.

Joe Savery Placed on Waivers

Hi everybody,

The Phillies placed relief pitcher Joe Savery on waivers on Sunday (February 16th) to make room for newly signed starting pitcher A.J. Burnett.  Savery was subsequentlyclaimed by the Oakland A's the next day (February 17th).  I just wanted to wish Savery luck in Oakland.
