Hi everybody,

This week's gif is just Chase acting indifferent to something in the dugout.  I guess it isn't a big deal to him that today is the last day of May.

Phillies outfielder Daniel Nava was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) with a strained left hamstring.  The injury occurred during last Friday's (May 19th) game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Phils are hopeful that Nava will only be on the DL for the minimum amount of time.  Left-handed relief pitcher Adam Morgan has been brought up from Triple A to replace Nava on the roster and hopefully bolster the bullpen.

Phils to See Cole Hamels For the First Time Since Being Traded

Hi everybody,

The Phillies are in Texas to play the Rangers tonight and will see former Phils pitcher Cole Hamels for the first time since he was traded in July 2015.  Unfortunately Hamels is injured (out eight weeks with a strained oblique muscle) and will be unable to pitch in the series.  It will still be good to see Hamels in the dugout but I would have liked to see him pitch against the Phils.

Miss Cole and Hunter on the Phils...

Hamels will always look better in Phils pinstripes....

Carlos Ruiz Returns to Philadelphia as a Mariner

Hi everybody,

As I wrote a couple days ago (Phils to Face Carlos Ruiz For the First Time Since Being Traded)....Carlos Ruiz returned to Philly with the Seattle Mariners for a two-games series on Tuesday and Wednesday (May 9-10).  During the game on Tuesday the Phils aired a video tribute to Chooch on the giant videotron.  An emotional Ruiz tipped his cap to the cheering Phillies fans after the video.

When Chooch batted for the first time later that night, he received another standing ovation from the fans.

You can watch the standing ovation here: http://www.csnphilly.com/video/phillies-fans-welcome-back-carlos-ruiz-standing-ovation

It was good to see you again Chooch!   No matter what uniform you wear...you will always be a Phillie!
