Chase Utley Photo of the Week (10-12-22)

Hi everybody,

This week’s photo is a shot of the Chase Utley bobblehead doll that I got at Citizens Bank Park during a giveaway in 2014.  I know this isn’t a normal Chase photo but I decided to share it anyway because it is cool.

Update On My Phillies Game Face Fan Photo Cutouts

Hi everybody,

My friends were nice enough to pick up my Phillies Fan Photo Cutout (Phillies Game Face Fan Photo Cutouts) from Citizens Bank Park earlier today.

How does it look?  Can you tell which one is me?

David Montgomery Celebration of Life Service Announced

Hi everybody,

The Phillies announced last Friday (May 10th) that a special service celebrating the life of the late Phillies Chairman David Montgomery will be held at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday, June 6th at 3:05 PM.  The event will be open to the public.

The Phils also paid tribute to Montgomery before last night's (May 13th) game against the Milwaukee Brewers with a video tribute and moment of silence.  The players will also be wearing a patch on their arms honoring Montgomery for the rest of the 2019 season.

David Montgomery Has Passed Away

Hi everybody,

Sad news to report today as Phillies Chairman David Montgomery has passed away at the age of 72.  Mr. Montgomery has been a member of the Phillies organization since 1971 and was an integral part in the construction of Citizens Bank Park.  Mr. Montgomery was known for his kindness to others and was beloved by both current and former players.  R.I.P. Phillies To Host MLB All-Star Game in 2026

Hi everybody,

The MLB All-Star game will be played in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park in July 2026.  The announcement was made yesterday afternoon (April 16th) at Independence Hall.  Although it is seven years away...it is pretty cool that the All-Star Game will be played at Citizens Bank Park.

Here's Gritty

Hi everybody,

The Philadelphia Flyers introduced their new mascot last week and initially was met with a mixed response from the Philly fans.

I'm scared...

On Saturday night (September 29th), Gritty made an appearance at Citizens Bank Park and hung out with the Phillie Phanatic.  He seemed to be a hit with the Phillies fans as he and the Phanatic danced on top of the dugout.

Dance lessons from the Phanatic...

I must say that Gritty has grown on me.  Even though he's still kinda spooky and is like the Phanatic's crazy step-brother...I'm glad he has joined the Philly mascot team.  Welcome to Philly, Gritty!!!

I'm still sorta scared...

Throwback Thursday (9-27-18)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from last year when my friends got me a Star Wars Phillie Phanatic bobblehead that was available on Star Wars night down at the ballpark.  What a cool item and a great addition to my growing bobblehead collection.

Cole Hamels Returned to Philly Last Weekend for the First Time Since Being Traded

Hi everybody,

Former Phils starting pitcher Cole Hamels returned to Philadelphia this past weekend with the Chicago Cubs.  This is the first time that Hamels has been in Philly since he was traded to the Texas Rangers in 2015.  The Rangers traded Hamels to the Cubs in July.

Hamels did not pitch during any of the three games but was greeted with a video presentation by the Phillies and a standing ovation by the fans.  It was good to see Hamels again and I hope he will pitch one more time for the Phillies before his career comes to an end.

Chase Utley Returns to Play the Last Regular Season Games of His Career in Philadelphia

Hi everybody,

Former Phillies second baseman (and my hero) Chase Utley returns to Citizens Bank Park this week to play the final regular season games of his career in Philadelphia.  Ever since Chase announced his retirement at the end of the 2018 season (Chase Utley Announces His Retirement)....I have been a little bummed.  Even though I really hope Chase plays well this week...I still want the Phils to sweep the Dodgers.

Chase will always be a Phillie to me....

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (10-11-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's photo of Chase is just a cool shot of my hero and Jimmy Rollins out in the field during a day game at Citizen's Bank Park.  I wouldn't be surprised if this is part of the pregame ritual that Chase and Jimmy did before each game.

2017 MLB Players Weekend

Hi everybody,

This past weekend (August 25th-27th) was the 1st annual MLB Players Weekend so the Phils were celebrating in style down at the ballpark with special uniforms and caps inspired by youth leagues.  The players were also allowed to use nicknames on their jerseys as well as a tribute patch on their right sleeve honoring a person or organization that was instrumental in the players development.

Here is a link where you all can see all the nicknames and tribute patch names of all the Phils players (Phillies Nicknames and Tribute Patches).

Even my hero Chase Utley got in on the action with his nickname of Silver Fox.  I couldn't find a picture of Chase in the special jersey but did find a pic of just the jersey.  I'm pretty sure that if Chase was still a Phillie that he would have be nicknamed The Man.

Throwback Thursday (8-17-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from a few years ago when I went to a Phillies game and got my Chase Utley Bobblehead figurine.  When we got home I couldn't wait to open it.  My friends said that after I opened it I stared at it for a long time.  What a cool giveaway from the Phils!
