Jean Segura Placed on the IL

Hi everybody,

Phillies second baseman Jean Segura was placed on the 10-day IL (Injured List) earlier today with a right quad strain.  Scott Kingery has been brought up to replace Segura on the 25-man roster.

Juan Nicasio Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies relief pitcher Juan Nicasio was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) on August 24th with right rotator cuff tendinitis.  In an additional move, Nick Pivetta was also sent down to Triple A.  Nicasio and Nivetta have been replaced on the 25 man roster by Triple A pitchers Edgar Garcia and Austin Davis.

Harper Family Has A Baby Boy

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to congratulate Phillies right-fielder Bryce Harper and his wife Kayla on the birth of their first child (Krew Aaron Harper) last Thursday (August 22nd).

While Bryce was on paternity leave this past weekend (August 23rd-25th)...Maikel Franco was brought up from Triple A to take his place on the 25 man roster.

Congrats again to the Harper family!

Jerad Eickhoff Returns from the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting pitcher Jerad Eickhoff was reactivated from the DL (Disabled List) yesterday (August 20th) and was assigned to the Triple A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.  Eickhoff has been on the DL since June 17th with right bicep tendinitis.

Jake Arrieta Done for the Season

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta is done for the season because he is having surgery to repair the bone spur in his right elbow.  Arrieta is expected to be ready to go by Spring Training. 1st Baseman/Bench Bat Logan Morrison has been called up from Triple A to replace Arrieta on the 25-man roster.

Jay Bruce Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies left fielder Jay Bruce was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) last Friday (August 9th) with a left flexor strain.  Bruce has been replaced on the 25 man roster by Triple A outfielder Adam Haseley.

Hi everybody,

Phillies bench player Brad Miller was reactivated from the DL (Disabled List) before Sunday's (August 4th) game against the Chicago White Sox. Miller has been on the DL since July 24th with a right hip flexor strain. The Phillies sent Maikel Franco to Triple A to make room for Miller on the 25 man roster.

The Phillies traded cash considerations to the Minnesota Twins for right handed relief pitcher Mike Morin on Saturday (July 20th).  To make room for Morin on the 25-man roster, the Phils sent relief pitcher J.D. Hammer down to Triple A.  Welcome to Philly, Mike Morin!

Phillies relief pitcher Adam Morgan was reactivated from the DL (Disabled List) before Friday's (June 21th) game against the Miami Marlins.  Morgan has been on the DL since May 26th with a left forearm strain.  The Phils sent pitcher Cole Irvin to Triple A to make room for Morgan on the 25 man roster.
