Zach Eflin Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting pitcher Zach Eflin was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) earlier today with a mid-back tightness. The injury is not considered serious and Eflin is only expected to miss one start.  Elfin has been replaced on the 25 man roster by Triple A pitcher Cole Irvin...who is rumored to replace Eflin in the starting rotation.

Bryce Harper Gets His 200th Career Double

Adam Morgan Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies relief pitcher Adam Morgan was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) on Sunday (May 26th) with a left forearm strain. It is not known how long Morgan will be out. Morgan has been replaced in the bullpen by Triple A pitcher Yacksel Rios.

Hi everybody,

Phillies relief pitcher Pat Neshek was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) on Friday (May 24th) with a right shoulder strain.  It is not know how long Neshek will be out.  Neshek has been replaced in the bullpen by Triple A pitcher J.D. Hammer.

Vincent Velasquez Returns from the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies pitcher Vincent Velasquez was reactivated from the DL (Disabled List) before Friday's (May 24th) game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Velasquez has been on the DL since May 11th with a right forearm strain. The Phils sent relief pitcher Drew Anderson to Triple A to make room for Velasquez on the 25 man roster.

It has also been announced that instead of returning to the starting rotation, Velasquez will for now pitch in the bullpen.

Phillies Statement On Odubel Herrera

Hi everybody,

The Phillies issued the following statement concerning the alleged incident involving Phillies center fielder Odubel Herrera on Monday evening (May 27th):

This morning we were made aware of an alleged incident involving Odúbel Herrera. Upon receiving this information, we immediately reported the incident to Major League Baseball, which has informed us that Herrera has been placed on Administrative Leave. The Phillies take any domestic violence accusation seriously, and strongly support the Joint Domestic Violence Policy agreed upon by MLB and the MLBPA.

It is unknown when or even if Herrera will ever return to the Phillies.  He has been replaced on the 25 man roster by Nick Williams.

Scott Kingery Returns from the DL

Phillies utility player Scott Kingery was reactivated from the DL (Disabled List) before Sunday's (May 19th) game against the Colorado Rockies. Kingery has been on the DL since April 20th with a right hamstring strain. The Phils sent reserve outfielder Nick Williams to Triple A to make room for Kingery on the 25 man roster.

David Montgomery Celebration of Life Service Announced

Hi everybody,

The Phillies announced last Friday (May 10th) that a special service celebrating the life of the late Phillies Chairman David Montgomery will be held at Citizens Bank Park on Thursday, June 6th at 3:05 PM.  The event will be open to the public.

The Phils also paid tribute to Montgomery before last night's (May 13th) game against the Milwaukee Brewers with a video tribute and moment of silence.  The players will also be wearing a patch on their arms honoring Montgomery for the rest of the 2019 season.
