Chase Utley Gets His 1000th Career RBI

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to congratulate former Phillies 2nd baseman (and my hero) Chase Utley for knocking in his 1000th career RBI on Friday (July 7th) against the Kansas City Royals.  I wish Chase could have done this career milestone as a member of the Phils but I am still very happy for him.  Congrats again, Chase and as the great Harry Kalas once said....Chase Utley you are the man!

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (3-15-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's photo is a shot of Chase high-fiving former Phillies bench hitter/1st Baseman Mike Sweeney during the 2010 Season.  Sweeney was traded to the Phils in August to play some 1st base and pinch hit during the stretch run.  From all accounts he was a great teammate and I'm sure him and Chase got along well.

Phillies Acquire Jimmy Paredes in Trade

Hi everybody,

Yesterday the Phillies acquired utility player Jimmy Paredes in a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays in which the Blue Jays will receive cash considerations. Paredes is able to play 2nd and 3rd base as well as both corner outfield positions.  It is hoped that Paredes will provide more pop for the struggling Phils offense.  To make room on the roster, the Phillies have designated Emmanuel Burriss for assignment.

Paredes has also previously played for the Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles.

Just wanted to congratulate Hunter Pence and the San Francisco Giants for their World Series win on Wednesday night against the Kansas City Royals. It is Hunter's 2nd World Series Ring since being foolishly traded by the Phillies in 2012.  I am very happy for him but I really wish he was still a Phillie!
