Phillies relief pitcher Jeff Manship deserves special praise for pitching four scoreless innings (10-13) before having to leave the game in the bottom of the 13th with a quad strain.  He got the injury while running to 1st base while batting.  If he hadn't gotten the injury, he may have been safe and the Phils would have won the game.  Hope he isn't hurt too bad.

Antonio Bastardo Suspended for 50 Games

Hi everybody,

The news continues to get worse for the Phillies as relief pitcher Antonio Bastardo was suspended for 50 games without pay by the MLB for violations to the league's drug policy.  This suspension will end the season for Bastardo and the already shaky Phillies bullpen just got a bit more wobbly.  The Phillies have yet to announce who will replace Bastardo in the bullpen.

** Update:  The Phillies announced that left-handed reliever Cesar Jimenez will replace Antonio Bastardo in the bullpen
