Darren Daulton

Hi everybody,

I meant to mention a couple of days ago about former Phillies catcher Darren Daulton.  Dalton was diagnosed with two brain tumors on Thursday (June 27th) and is currently receiving treatment.  Dalton, who everyone refers to as Dutch, was the Phils catcher and team leader during the 1993 season.  The '93 Phils won the National League Championship and captured the hearts of Philly.  Get well soon, Dutch....you are in our hearts and prayers!

Hunter Pence April Update

RBIs = 40
Home Runs = 12
Runs Scored = 46

His numbers are still looking good and he would have been a huge help to the Phillies this season.  I also included Strike Outs to the stats each month.  Should have had them at the beginning of the season.

Mike Adams Likely Done For The Season

Hi everybody,

Phillies relief pitcher Mike Adams is likely done for the season with three tears in his shoulder.  The injury was discovered yesterday after Adams visited with doctors.  It is not known if Adams will require surgery or just rehab but either way it is highly unlikely that he will return this season.  Get well, Mike...looking forward to hopefully seeing you healthy next season!

Erik Kratz Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to update you on a story that I posted earlier today (Erik Kratz Has Left Knee Injury).  Phillies catcher Erik Kratz was placed on the DL (Disabled List) before today's game against the Milwaukee Brewers and he returned to Philadelphia to have an MRI on his left knee.

Steven Lerud has been brought up from the Triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs to replace Kratz on the roster.  It is hoped that Carlos Ruiz will return to the club within the next week.  Chooch has be on the DL since May 20th with a strained right hamstring.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery to Erik Kratz.  Let's hope the knee injury isn't too severe.

Erik Kratz Has Left Knee Injury

Hi everybody,

Phillies catcher Erik Kratz injured his left knee in last night's loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.  The injury occurred in the 9th inning as Kratz ran to first base.  We won't know more about how severe the injury is until later today but it is expected that Kratz will be placed on the DL (Disabled List).

Humberto Quintero should get the start this afternoon and if there is not a second catcher available at game time, Kevin Frandsen would serve as the emergency catcher.  It was rumored that Carlos Ruiz would be available to return from the DL in about a week after a rehab assignment with the Single A Clearwater Threshers.  I wonder if Chooch will return early due to Kratz's injury.

I wish Kratz well and hope that the injury is not serious.  Just don't eat too much turkey bacon while you are gone.
