Hi everybody,

Welcome to final Hunter Pence Photo of the Month.  With the start of the regular season on Monday and the fact that Hunter hasn't been a Phillie since July 2012...it feels like it is time to stop posting pictures each month.  I still may occasionally post pictures of Pence but not on a monthly basis.  I wish Hunter well and to this day still wish he was a Phillie.  Without further adieu....he are lots of pictures!

It's time for the next Hunter Pence Photo of the Month.  I like to think of this as a look back at Hunter's brief stay with the Phillies.  If you all want to see the previous Photos of the Month, just click the Hunter Pence Photo of the Month label at the bottom of the post.

Here are Hunter's end of season stats:

Batting Average = .283
RBIs = 99
Home Runs = 27
Runs Scored = 91
Walks = 52
Stolen Bases = 22
Strike Outs = 115

Pence had a monster September with huge increases in both his RBI (33 since last month) and Home Run (11 since last month) totals.  In fact...all of Hunter's offensive numbers have improved since August.

I also want to report that Pence signed a 5-year $90 million dollar contract extension with the San Francisco Giants on Saturday.  The deal includes a full no-trade clause so Hunter will remain with the Giants for years to come.  Pence also received the Willie Mac Award last Friday (September 27th) by the Giants for being the most inspirational player on the team. 

I was hoping that perhaps Pence would resign with the Phils as a free agent this off-season but since that won't be happening I will not be posting Pence's stats in 2014 or beyond.  I do plan to continue posting pictures of Hunter as a Phillie until the start of the 2014 season.  So starting next month this feature will be renamed Hunter Pence Photo(s) of the Month and will appear once a month through March 2014.

The picture that I chose for this month's Hunter Pence Photo of the Month is a cool shot of Pence swinging at a pitch.  Hope you all enjoy it.

Here are Hunter's stats as of the end of the day on August 27th, 2013:

Batting Average = .278
RBIs = 66
Home Runs = 16
Runs Scored = 68
Walks = 36
Stolen Bases = 19
Strike Outs = 90

Pence's numbers have improved somewhat over the last month especially in RBIs and Runs Scored.  I continue to believe that Pence would have been an asset to the Phillies this season.  I don't think they would have made the playoffs but they certainly would have more wins.  Although I don't think they will, the Phils should try to sign Pence if/when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

I've decided to include two photos for the Hunter Pence Photo of the Month.  The first picture is right after Hunter scored a run.

The second is a pic from the second game that Pence was a member of the Phils.  It was against the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Phils has just come back and won the game.  Many of the players (past and present) are celebrating the win with Pence...including Chase, Raul Ibanez and Shane Victorino.  This was also the game where Pence uttered his catch phrase "Let's Go Eat!".  I must say that I miss those fun days in 2011.

Here are Hunter's stats as of the end of the day on July 28th, 2013:

Batting Average = .277
RBIs = 51
Home Runs = 14
Runs Scored = 55
Walks = 26
Stolen Bases = 14
Strike Outs = 71

Hunter has struggled a bit at the plate this past month but I still feel that he would have been an asset to the Phillies this season.

I should mention that today is the 2 year anniversary of Pence being acquired by the Phillies from the Houston Astros.  According to the MLB rumor mill, he may be on the move again.  If he is traded, it will be the third year in a row of Hunter joining a new team.  I wish the Phils would trade to get him back but I know that won't be happening.

His numbers are still looking good and he would have been a huge help to the Phillies this season.  I also included Strike Outs to the stats each month.  Should have had them at the beginning of the season.

Hunter Pence May Update

Hi everybody,

As you recall last month (Hunter Pence April Update), I have decided to check in to see how former Phillie Hunter Pence is doing in San Francisco.  Here are his stats as of the end of the day on May 28th, 2013:

Batting Average = .277
RBIs = 28
Home Runs = 8
Runs Scored = 30
Walks = 14
Stolen Bases = 8

I wish he was still a Phillie with those numbers.  I think they could use him.  Here is the Hunter Pence Photo of the Month for May.  Hunter is celebrating with Ryan Howard.  I miss those days.

Hunter Pence April Update

Hi everybody,

I was looking at my Phillies 2013 Calendar and noticed that the featured player for April is Hunter Pence.  Pence was traded to the San Francisco Giants last season at the trade deadline but I guess it was too late to change the picture for the calendar.  Seeing Pence made me want to check and see how he is doing so far this season.  Here are his stats as of the end of the day on April 23rd, 2013:

Batting Average = .277
RBIs = 11
Home Runs = 4
Runs Scored = 9
Walks = 5
Stolen Bases = 4

I may do this every month because Pence was one of my favorite Phillies and I still think that he should not have been traded..  I am also interested to see how he is doing stat wise.  Along with the monthly stats, I will also include a different picture of Pence during his time with the Phillies.  It will be like a Hunter Pence Photo of the Month.  Here is the April photo:
