2017 Little Chase Season Highlights (12-29-17)

Hi everybody,

Sadly this is the final 2017 season "highlight"...but it is a great one.  My hero Chase Utley was in Dubai on vacation.  While there he was doing some dabbing (not sure what that is) and that is when I came across him.  Even though I didn't want to bother him on his vacay, I still wanted to get into a few of his pictures.

I may have sniffed some Elmers before this shot...

The Five Worst Christmas Songs

Hi everybody,

** About six years ago I posted the five worst Christmas songs ever (The Five Worst Christmas Songs).  I decided to share that list again for you all to enjoy....





I love listening to Christmas songs this time of the year.  I enjoy most of them but there are a few I really don't like.  So I decided to list the five songs I dislike the most.  I hope you don't like them as much as I don't.

1.  The Chipmunks Christmas song (Not even sure if that's the right name)

2.  Paul McCartney "Wonderful Christmas Time"  (Even thinking about this song makes me ill)

3.  "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" (I don't have any idea who sings it and I don't really care)

4.  George Michael "Last Christmas"  (ugh)

5.  The Peanuts "Christmas Time is Here" (That song is very depressing and I'm a happy guy)

6.  The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"  (I know I said five songs but I just remembered that one and had to add it)

No Phillies Will Wear Halladay's Number 34 During 2018 Season

Hi everybody,

The Phillies announced yesterday (December 21st) that no Phillie will be wearing Roy Halladay's Number 34 during the 2018 season.  The Phils pitching legend passed away in a plane crash on November 7th and this looks to be the first of many ways that the Phillies plan to honor Doc during the 2018 season.  I'm hoping that one of the ways that Halladay is honored will be an induction to the Phillies Wall of Fame.

This week's season "highlight" occurred during the summer when I was floating around in my little raft and I happened to come across a photo shoot of the lovely Maitland Ward from Boy Meets World.  No one seemed too upset that I was in the shot and I soon floated away so Maitland could continue her shoot.

Phillies Sign First Baseman Carlos Santana

Hi everybody,

The Phillies signed first baseman Carlos Santana to a 3-year contract last Friday (December 15th).  The deal is reportedly worth $60 million dollars and includes an option for an additional year in 2021.  This move ensures that Rhys Hoskins will be the Phils starting left fielder.  Santana should add an offensive punch to the Phils lineup and I am looking forward to seeing the Phillies hit in 2018.

Phillies Sign Relief Pitcher Tommy Hunter

Freddy Galvis Traded to the San Diego Padres

Hi everybody,

The Phillies traded shortstop Freddy Galvis to the San Diego Padres last Friday (December 15th) for Double A right-handed pitcher Enyel De Los Santos.  The move ensures that J.P. Crawford will be the starting shortstop for the Phils for the coming 2018 season.  Galvis had been a member of the Phils roster since 2012.  Good luck in San Diego Freddy!

2017 Little Chase Season Highlights (12-15-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's season "highlight" is from about a month ago when I stumbled onto a photo shoot of WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair.  This photo shoot occurred soon after Charlotte won the Smackdown Women's Championship and she was posing with all the titles she has won during her short career.  Even though I ruined the shot, Charlotte didn't seem to mind too much.  Congrats on your recent title win, Champ!

Phillies Resign Pat Neshek

Hi everybody,

The Phillies have resigned free-agent relief pitcher Pat Neshek yesterday (December 12th) after trading him to the Colorado Rockies back in July (Pat Neshek Traded to the Colorado Rockies).  Neshek (who was the Phils sole All-Star last season) signed a two-year deal worth $16.5 million dollars.  Welcome back to Philly, Mr. Neshek!

Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles

Hi everybody,

I wanted to congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles for winning the NFC East Championship on Sunday (December 10th).  The Eagles record is currently 11-2 with three regular season games remaining.  I hope the Eagles finish strong with a couple more wins to get home field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs.

The road to the Super Bowl won't be easy with the loss of star quarterback Carson Wentz but I have faith that the Eagles will do well.  Go Eagles!

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

On this day 76 years ago, Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.  2,403 American citizens lost their lives in the surprise attack that led to the entry of the United States into World War II and this day honors their sacrifice.
