Chase Utley and Jimmy Rollins Update
Maikel Franco Likely to Return this Weekend for Final Phillies Series of the 2015 Season
Hi everybody,
I may have been a tad hasty last month by providing Phils third baseman Maikel Franco's final stats for the 2015 season (Maikel Franco Placed on DL and Likely Done for the Season) as he is expected to play in the Phils final series of the season against the Miami Marlins. If Franco does in fact play...I welcome him back.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (9-30-15)
Hi everybody,
This week's photo is a picture of Chase at the mound with Phils starting pitcher Cliff Lee. Lee (who has been injured all season) has likely played his last game as a Phillie so figured I would show a pic of him with Chase. I hope you all enjoy it.

Pete Mackanin Named Phillies Manager for 2016 Season
Hi everybody,
Phillies interim manager Pete Mackanin has been named the Phils skipper for the 2016 season with an option for the 2017 season. Mackanin has a record of 30-46 since taking over for Ryne Sandberg on June 26th but since the All-Star break the record has been 27-32. Mackanin is popular with the young players and the team has played with more energy since he has taken the reigns. I want to congratulate Pete Mackanin and wish him the best of luck for the remainder of this year and the 2016 season.

Ruben Amaro Jr No Longer Phillies General Manager
Hi everybody,
Ruben Amaro Jr. was fired from his position as Phillies General Manager yesterday afternoon. RAJ has been the Phillies GM since the start of the 2009 season as he has led the Phils to three straight NL East Titles (2009-2011) and one NL Pennant (2009). He has also failed to make the postseason the past four seasons. The Phils are expected to announce their new GM by the end of October.
I am glad that RAJ is finally gone as he has made some questionable decisions the last few seasons...including trading Hunter Pence to the Giants for nothing in 2012 and sending my hero Chase Utley to the Dodgers last month. I also have to give him credit where it is due for the Four Aces (Halliday, Lee, Oswalt and Hamels) as well as getting Pence in 2011.
I wish RAJ well in his future endeavors but I think it's time to celebrate.

Phils Eliminated From Post-Season Play
So tired of losing.... |
Just wanted to let you know that the Phils were officially eliminated from post-season play last night. This will mark the fourth straight season of not reaching the playoffs after making it five years in a row (with 5-straight NL East Titles) from 2007-2011. Even though we have all known since practically the beginning of the season that this was going to happen, it still stinks.

Domonic Brown Has Concussion and is Likely Done for the Season
Hi everybody,
Phillies outtfielder Domonic Brown suffered a concussion on September 2nd and is likely out for the rest of the season. His time in Philly may also be up as he will probably not return to the Phillies next season.
Dom suffered the injury when he tumbled over the outfield wall during the game against the New York Mets. I wish Dom a speedy recovery and if he has played his last game as a Phillie...good luck in the future.
