Ryan Howard Injury Update

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to give an update on Ryan Howard's knee injury (Ryan Howard Placed on DL).  Howard had the MRI on his injured left knee earlier today and it revealed a torn medial meniscus which will require surgery later this week.  He is expected to miss six to eight weeks which means that he should make his return in late August or early September.  With Howard out, Darin Ruf is expected to get the majority of starts at 1st Base.  Get well soon, Big Piece!

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to let you know that Phillies 1st Baseman Ryan Howard was placed on the DL (Disabled List) yesterday with a sore left knee.  He is going to have an MRI either today or tomorrow to determine if surgery is necessary.  If it is, Howard's season will most likely be over.  1st Baseman/Left Fielder Darin Ruf was brought up from the Triple-A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs to take Howard's place on the roster.  Get well soon, Big Piece!
