Casper Wells Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies outfielder Casper Wells was placed on the DL (Disabled List) on Monday due to vision problems.  He has been replaced on the roster by Pete Orr. Hopefully Wells eyesight problems are not serious and he will return to the team before too long.

Game 31: Mets (16-13) at Phillies (14-16)

Hi everybody,

Here is the score of tonight's game:

New York Mets:                7
Philadelphia Phillies:       4

LP:   Chad Qualls (1-1)

Hunter Pence gets two RBIs (22)
Shane Victorino gets an RBI (14)
Pete Orr gets an RBI (5)

Hunter Pence gets a Home Run (7)

Once again the Phils blow a lead and waste another quality outing by one of their starting pitchers....tonight being Joe Blanton.  It is so upsetting because they are so much better than they are playing.  I don't know how else to express my frustration other than to show you how I feel right now:

Game 23: Cubs (8-14) at Phillies (10-12)

Hi everybody,

Here is the score of tonight's game:

Chicago Cubs:               4

SV:    Jonathan Papelbon (8)

Placido Polanco gets two RBIs (4)
Hunter Pence gets an RBI (12)
Carlos Ruiz gets two RBIs (10)
Pete Orr gets an RBI (4)

Nice win to end the short home stand for the Phils.  Vance Worley pitched well although he did not get the win.   The bullpen gave up 3 runs in the 8th inning...which tied the game at 4.  The Phils were able to score 2 runs in the top of the 9th with a double from Placido Polanco and Jonathan Papelbon notched his 8th save of the year to win the game.  The next two series are very important for the Phils against the Atlanta Braves and Washington Nationals.  Let's hope the Phils can win both series and move up in the standings in the NL East.  Go Phils!!!

Sorry that this post is late again.  These late night games are wearing me out and I'm too tired to post by the time the game is over.  Glad to see the bats were alive once again for the Phils as they scored 8 runs as well as hit 3 Home Runs.  It was good to see Hunter Pence back in the lineup after missing Monday's game with a sore shoulder.  I thought he may be out for a few games.  Pete Orr also hit a nice bases clearing triple to get his first 3 RBIs of the season.  The Phils go for the series win this afternoon before heading home for a weekend series against the Cubs.  Go Phils!!!
