2018 Little Chase Season Highlights (12-31-18)

Hi everybody,

This week's final 2018 Little Chase Season Highlight is another set of pictures of me as Muttonchops Magoo when I decided to run for Governor and Senator from Pennsylvania.  Although I ran a spirited campaign...I was unsuccessful in becoming the first ever Governor-Senator.

I had a lot of fun portraying a filthy rich railroad tycoon.  Although old Muttonchops has returned to the 1800s....I wonder if he will ever come back for another appearance?!

Philadelphia Eagles Make NFC Playoffs As Sixth Seed Wildcard Team

Hi everybody,

The Eagles made the NFC Playoffs as the sixth seed Wildcard team with their victory over the Washington Redskins plus the loss by the Minnesota Vikings against the Chicago Bears.  The Eagles will get the chance to thank the NFC North Champion Bears for their help by eliminating them from the postseason next Sunday (January 6th, 2019) in the first round of the NFC playoffs.  Go Birds!

Week 16: Philadelphia Eagles (9-7) Beat Washington Redskins (7-9)

Hi everybody,

The Eagles beat the Redskins 24-0 earlier today to obtain a final regular season record of 9-7.  Since the Vikings also lost...the Eagles will play the Chicago Bears next Sunday (January 6th, 2019) in Chicago in an NFC first round match-up.  Go Birds!

2018 Little Chase Season Highlights (12-24-18)

Philadelphia Eagles Eliminated From NFC East Title Contention

Hi everybody,

The Eagles were eliminated from the NFC East title race earlier today when the Dallas Cowboys won and became NFC East Champions.  The Eagles can still make the playoffs as a Wildcard team with a win against the Washington Redskins plus a loss by the Minnesota Vikings against the Chicago Bears.  Go Birds and Bears!

Week 15: Philadelphia Eagles (8-7) Beat Houston Texans (11-3)

Hi everybody,

The Eagles beat the Texans 32-30 earlier today to obtain a record of 8-7.  The Birds will play the Washington Redskins next Sunday (December 30th) in Washington to conclude the regular season.  The Eagles still need a win and some help to make the playoffs.  Go Birds!

The Five Worst Christmas Songs

Hi everybody,

** About seven years ago I posted the five worst Christmas songs ever (The Five Worst Christmas Songs).  I decided to share that list again for you all to enjoy....



I love listening to Christmas songs this time of the year.  I enjoy most of them but there are a few I really don't like.  So I decided to list the five songs I dislike the most.  I hope you don't like them as much as I don't.

1.  The Chipmunks Christmas song (Not even sure if that's the right name)

2.  Paul McCartney "Wonderful Christmas Time"  (Even thinking about this song makes me ill)

3.  "Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer" (I don't have any idea who sings it and I don't really care)

4.  George Michael "Last Christmas"  (ugh)

5.  The Peanuts "Christmas Time is Here" (That song is very depressing and I'm a happy guy)

6.  The Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping"  (I know I said five songs but I just remembered that one and had to add it)

Week 14: Philadelphia Eagles (7-7) Beat Los Angeles Rams (11-3)

The Eagles beat the Rams 30-23 earlier tonight to obtain a record of 7-7.  The Birds will play the Houston Texans next Sunday (December 23rd) in Philly in yet another must-win game to keep their playoff hopes alive.  Go Birds!

Andrew McCutchen Signs Three-Year Contract With Phillies

Hi everybody,

The Phils signed free agent outfielder Andrew McCutchen to a three-year contract that includes an option for a fourth-year in 2022.  McCutchen played for the Pittsburgh Pirates for most of his career before signing with the San Francisco Giants last season.  He was then traded to the New York Yankees before the trade deadline.

McCutchen is expected to mostly play left field next season.  Welcome to Philly, Cutch!

Week 13: Philadelphia Eagles (6-7) Lose To Dallas Cowboys (8-5)

Hi everybody,

The Eagles lost to the Cowboys 29-23 today in overtime to obtain a record of 6-7.  With this latest loss, the Eagles now have a very slim chance of making the playoffs.  The Birds will play the Los Angeles Rams next Sunday night (December 16th) in Los Angeles.  Go Birds!

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

On this day 77 years ago, Japan attacked the United States at Pearl Harbor in Hawaii.  2,403 American citizens lost their lives in the surprise attack that led to the entry of the United States into World War II and this day honors their sacrifice.

Phillies and Mariners Agree To Five-Player Trade

Hi everybody,

The Phillies and Mariners completed a trade earlier today that sent Phils infielders Carlos Santana and J.P. Crawford to Seattle in exchange for shortstop Jean Segura and relief pitchers Juan Nicasio and James Pazos.  Segura is the centerpiece of the deal for the Phils and is expected to be the starting shortstop for the 2019 Season.  Good luck in Seattle Carlos Santana and J.P. Crawford.  Welcome to Philly Jean Segura, Juan Nicasio and James Pazos.
