Alumni Weekend

Hi everybody,

It was Alumni Weekend at the ballpark this past weekend and it was a somber affair as the Phils honored three Wall of Famers (Dallas GreenJim Bunning and Darren Daulton) who passed away this year.  The Phils honored Dallas Green, Jim Bunning and Darren Daulton with a tribute video and a speech by Mike Schmidt as other Phillies Wall of Famers looked on.

Watching the tribute video...

National Anthem

I want to repeat what I wrote on Twitter on Saturday night as my tribute to the Phillies legends that we lost:

I raise my glass to the 3 icons that have left us. Cheers to Jim Bunning, Dallas Green & Darren "Dutch" Daulton!

2016 Little Chase Season Highlights (2-17-17)

Hi everybody,

Sadly this is the final 2016 season "highlight"...but it is a great one.  This "highlight" occurred when the Phillies TV Broadcast Crew were posing for their annual photo.  I decided to join in since one of my dreams is to someday be on Gregg Murphy's Phillies Notebook.  I even put on a tie so I could appear more professional.  Lucky for me the the broadcast team didn't seem to mind my appearance in one of their photos.

Don't I look professional?

I hope you have enjoyed all of my 2016 highlights.  With the baseball season starting soon, I'm sure there will be plenty of great new highlights in 2017.

Jimmy Rollins Becomes Phillies All-Time Hits Leader

Hi everybody,

I just want to congratulate Phils shortstop Jimmy Rollins for becoming the Phillies All-Time Hits Leader with his 2,235th hit in the 5th inning of yesterday's game against the Chicago Cubs.  Rollins (who hit a single) was greeted by the former record holder (and Phillies legend) Mike Schmidt at first base before being congratulated by the entire team.  Congrats on this great achievement, J-Roll!

The team celebrates with J-Roll

Number 1 and 2 on the Phils All-Time Hits List

Jimmy Rollins Ties Mike Schmidt for Phils All-Time Hits Mark

Hi everybody,

During last night's game against the Chicago Cubs, Phils shortstop Jimmy Rollins hit his 2,234th hit as a Phillie.  This hit (a double in the bottom of the 9th) tied Phils legend Mike Schmidt for Phillies All-Time Hits Leader.  Rollins hopes to break the record before the current home stand ends on Sunday. Good luck, Jimmy!

Ryan Howard Hits His 1000th Career RBI

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to congratulate Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard for knocking in his 1,000th RBI in today's game against the New York Mets.  It has only taken 1,230 games for Howard to reach that milestone.  The Big Man has the fourth most RBIs in Phillies history with Mike Schmidt having the most at 1,595.  If Howard stays healthy, he should take the record in the next few years.  Congrats again, Big Piece!

Congrats to Jimmy Rollins for 2218 Career Hit and 2nd Place on Phils All-Time Hits List

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to congratulate Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins for his 2,218 career hit in yesterdays game against the Miami Marlins. What is so important about this hit is that it puts Rollins in sole possession of 2rd place on the Phils all-time hits list. Jimmy passed Richie Ashburn and is only 17 hits away from being the Phillies all-time hits leader.  That record is held by one of the greatest Phillies ever...Hall of Fame 3rd baseman Mike Schmidt (2,234 hits).  Congrats Jimmy!

Chase Utley Hits His 300th Career Double

Hi everybody,

During Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs, my hero Chase Utley hit his 300th career double.  Chase is also the third player in Phillies history (along with Mike Schmidt and Jimmy Rollins) to amass at least 300 doubles, 200 home runs, 800 RBIs and 100 stolen bases.  I just wanted to congratulate Chase on these important milestones.

Ryan Howard Hits 300th Career Home Run

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to congratulate Ryan Howard on hitting his 300th Home Run yesterday.  He is the second-fastest player in MLB history to accomplish this feat.  He is also only the second Phillie after Mike Schmidt to hit 300 or more Home Runs.  Congrats Big Piece!
