The Philles have made several roster moves earlier today.  The following players club options were declined:

-- Jason Vargas (Left Handed Starting Pitcher)

The following players were removed from the 40-man roster:

-- Jerad Eickhoff (Right Handed Starting Pitcher)
-- Phil Gosselin (Infielder)
-- Mike Morin (Right Handed Relief Pitcher)
-- Blake Parker Right Handed Relief Pitcher)
-- Edubray Ramos Right Handed Relief Pitcher)

All eight players are now free agents and can sign with any team.

Roman Quinn Placed on the DL

Phillies center fielder Roman Quinn was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) last Saturday (August 17th) with a right groin strain. Quinn has been replaced on the 25 man roster by relief pitcher Jared Hughes.
