Former Phillies center fielder Shane Victorino retired as a Phillie before Friday's (August 3rd) game against the Miami Marlins. Victorino played for the Phils from 2005-2012 (when he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers).
Victorino (nicknamed the Flyin' Hawaiian) won three Gold Gloves and was a two-time NL All-Star as a member of the Phillies. He also was part of five NL East Championship teams (2007-2011), two National League Championship teams (2008-2009) and the 2008 World Champions. Victorino would later be a part of an American League Championship and World Series Championship with the Boston Red Sox in 2013.
Congrats on a great career, Shane! I look forward to seeing you on the Phillies Wall of Fame someday.
