75th Anniversary of D-Day

Hi everybody,

Today marks the 75th anniversary of the Allied landings at Normandy that began the liberation of Europe from Nazi tyranny and helped to bring about the end of the second World War in Europe.  I just want to say thank you to all the brave soldiers that made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom.

My 3000th Post

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to quickly acknowledge and celebrate my 3000th blog post.  I've been blogging since October 16th, 2011 (My 1st Post) and have been having a blast since day 1.  If you would like to know more about the blog's history....please check out the link to my 1000th post (My 1000th Post).

Andrew McCutchen Done for the Season

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting left fielder Andrew McCutchen is done for the season after suffering an ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) tear in his left knee during Monday night's (June 3rd) game against the San Diego Padres.  It is hoped that McCutchen will be ready to go at the start of next season.

Jay Bruce is expected to get the majority of the starts in left field for the remainder of the season.  2017 first round draft pick Adam Haseley has been called up from Triple A to take McCutchen's spot on the roster.  He is expected to get the majority of the starts in center field going forward.

I wish Cutch a speedy recovery and I hope he's in the clubhouse a lot this season since his presence can only help the team.

Phillies Acquire Jay Bruce From Mariners

The Phillies traded minor league prospect Jake Scheiner to the Seattle Mariners for left fielder Jay Bruce and cash considerations ($18.8 million) on Sunday (June 2nd).  Welcome to Philly, Jay Bruce!
