Throwback Thursday (7-27-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is a photo of me with my best pal Little Sherlock.  I met LS about two years ago and we quickly became best buds.  He's a great guy who always puts up with my shenanigans with his cheery disposition.

Best buds....

Pat Neshek Traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers

Hi everybody,

The Phillies traded right-handed relief pitcher Pat Neshek and cash to the Colorado Rockies for Minor League prospects Jose Gomez (shortstop), Alejandro Requena (right-handed pitcher) and J.D. Hammer (right-handed pitcher).  All three of the new Phillies prospects were named All-Stars of the South Atlantic League this season.

Neshek (who was the sole Phillies All-Star) goes to a Rockies team that is in Wild Card contention.  Neshek spoke fondly of his brief time in Philly and stated he would be open to resign with the Phils after this season.  Good luck in Colorado, Pat Neshek!

The Phanatic is our sole All-Star now...

Aaron Altherr Returns from the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies starting outfielder Aaron Altherr returned from the DL (Disabled List) in last night's (July 26th) game against the Houston Astros.  Altherr had been on the DL since July 14th with a strained right hamstring.  Welcome back, Aaron Altherr!

Daniel Nava Placed on the DL

Hi everybody,

Phillies outfielder Daniel Nava was placed on the 10-day DL (Disabled List) with a left hamstring strain before last night's (July 26th) game against the Houston Astros.  The injury occurred during Saturday's (July 22nd) game against the Milwaukee Brewers so Nava's DL stint is retroactive to July 23rd.  Nava will be able to return by August 2nd, but it is unknown if he will be ready to play by then.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (7-26-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's gif is from Chase's last game as a Phillie before he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.  At this point it was known that Chase was about to be traded so he tipped his cap to the fans at the end of the game as he was leaving the field.  After all this time it still makes me sad to see this.
