Happy Halloween

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Halloween!  I'm gonna head out to do some trick-or-treating soon so I figured that I should share my Halloween costume before I head out.  If you follow me on Twitter (see link at bottom of page) you would have seen that I'm dressed as Muttonchops Magoo...an 18th century filthy rich railroad tycoon.

Muttonchops Magoo, Railroad Tycoon

I've had a lot of fun as Muttonchops showing off my classy Choo Choo trains and tremendous wealth.

I own lots of Choo Choo trains...

Just some of my daily spending money...

This is just a few of my gold bars...

Have a safe Halloween!.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (10-31-18)

Hi everybody,

This week's photo is a shot of Chase after getting a walk-off hit to win a game and being rewarded with a face full of shaving cream.  It is almost like Chase is dressed up for Halloween and is in costume as a pie.

A Toast To My Hero Chase Utley

Hi everybody,

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost the World Series to the Boston Red Sox four games to one last night (October 28th) so the playing career of former Phillie (and my hero) Chase Utley has come to an end.  I just wanted to tip my cap and raise a glass to Chase for an amazing career.  If it wasn't for Chase and Bleacher Creatures...I would have never started writing this blog, tweeting on Twitter or posting pictures on Instagram.  I am so happy that Chase can finally come home to the Phillies!  You will always be The Man, Chase!  Cheers!!!

Cheers to a great career, Chase!!!

Gettysburg Photo of the Month (October 2018)

Hi everybody,

This month's photo is a picture that I have shared in the past of a spooky shot of a ghost soldier at the Peace Light Memorial.  It was taken by some of my friends many moons ago and I wanted to post it again during the Halloween season for anyone who hasn't seen it before.  Here is the original link to my original post that goes into greater detail about this photo (Gettysburg Ghosts).

Throwback Thursday (10-25-18)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from a few years ago when I dressed up as Little Dracula for Halloween.  In this photo I was trying to hypnotize my late pal Abby into making me a chicken salad sammich with avocado.  I was unsuccessful in my scheme so I just ordered a pizza and petted Abby instead.

Chase Utley is Going Back to the World Series Again

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to congratulate my hero (and Phillies Legend) Chase Utley for going back to the World Series again with the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Dodgers won the National League Championship last night (October 20th) for the second straight year by beating the Milwaukee Brewers in seven games and will be facingthe American League Champion Boston Red Sox.  Although it is unlikely that Chase will be on the Dodgers World Series roster since he hasn't be on any of the Dodgers playoff rosters this season....I still hope Chase gets one last World Series ring.

Chase Utley Given Rocking Chair From Dodger Teammates

Hi everybody,

Although my hero Chase Utley has not been part of the Dodgers playoff roster for either the NLDS or NLCS...he was given a customized rocking chair by his teammates last week to celebrate the end of his playing career.  It looks like the rocker is pretty comfortable and it was cool of the Dodgers to include the Phillies logo on it.

Time to Put My Phils Jersey Away

Hi everybody,

With the 2018 season coming to a close...it's time for me to put my Phillies jersey away.  Will still be watching playoff baseball and rooting for Chase & Cole as well as watching other Philly sports but this time of year is always a little sad for me.  I'll miss watching the Phils every night.

We'll still have some fun on the blog though and before you know it...it will be time to put that Phils jersey back on again.

See you in 2019, Phillies....

2018 NL East Final Standings

Hi everybody,

Here are the final standings for the NL East this season:

NL East                                    W         L       PCT        GB

Atlanta Braves                         90        72      .556        --
Washington Nationals            82        80      .506         8
Philadelphia Phillies               80        82      .494        10
New York Mets                         77        85      .475        13
Miami Marlins                          63        98      .391       26.5*

* The Marlins only played 161 games this season

The Phillies ended the season with fourteen more wins than last season.  The season started with great promise and the Phils were in first place and fifteen games above .500 in early August but a two month slump erased all that.  Although they ended up finishing in third place in the division...I still think things are looking up for the Phils in 2019 and beyond.

My Appearance on NBC Sports Philadelphia

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to thank NBC Sports Philadelphia for my appearance yesterday during Phillies Postgame Live.  During the show, hosts Danny Pommells and Ricky Bottalico asked the fans to submit their 2019 Phillies Opening Day Starting Lineup via Twitter.  As Pommells and Ricky Bo were discussing their lineups...my lineup appeared at the bottom of the screen.  Here is the dream lineup that I tweeted:

1) Roman Quinn (CF)
2) Carlos Santana (3B)
3) Manny Machado (SS)
4) Bryce Harper (RF)
5) Rhys Hoskins (1B)
6) Wilson Ramos (C)
7) Nick Williams (LF)
8) Scott Kingery (2B)
9) Aaron Nola (P)

I guess we shall see if the Phils can make my dream lineup come true.  They will have to spend some money to do it and I hope they do.  Thank again for the appearance, NBC Sports Philly!

Here's Gritty

Hi everybody,

The Philadelphia Flyers introduced their new mascot last week and initially was met with a mixed response from the Philly fans.

I'm scared...

On Saturday night (September 29th), Gritty made an appearance at Citizens Bank Park and hung out with the Phillie Phanatic.  He seemed to be a hit with the Phillies fans as he and the Phanatic danced on top of the dugout.

Dance lessons from the Phanatic...

I must say that Gritty has grown on me.  Even though he's still kinda spooky and is like the Phanatic's crazy step-brother...I'm glad he has joined the Philly mascot team.  Welcome to Philly, Gritty!!!

I'm still sorta scared...
