Heading Out On Vacation

Hi everybody,

I'm off again on vacation.  I'll be away for a few days with my friends driving around Pennsylvania visiting Lancaster, Gettysburg and maybe some other places.  I unfortunately will not be able to watch Phillies Opening Day but will update any game summaries that I miss when I get back.  Check my Twitter account (LC's Twitter) for any wacky vacation pics and updates.

On the road again in my vacay shirt...

This week's Throwback Thursday moment is from my trip to New Orleans in early September 2014.  This pic was taken while I was out and about on Bourbon Street.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (3-29-17)

Hi everybody,

I've decided to shake things up a bit with the Chase Utley Photo of the Week posts.  I am now including gifs as weekly pictures and will be posting them a lot over the coming months.  I hope you all enjoy them.

This week's gif is when Chase did the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge back in 2014 to benefit the ALS Association.  The Ice Bucket Challenge helped raise around $115 million dollars to research a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) which is also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.  Chase went all in and I salute him and everyone else who took part in the challenge for a great cause.

Philles Icon Dallas Green Has Passed Away

Hi everybody,

Just wanted to share the sad news of the passing of Phillies Icon Dallas Green on Tuesday (March 22nd).  Green was the manager of the Phillies (1979-1981) when they won their first World Series in 1980 and served as a scout with the Phils later in his life.  Green also managed the New York Yankees (1989) and New York Mets (1993-1996) as well as serving as the General Manager of the Chicago Cubs (1982-1987).  He was elected to the Phillies Wall of Fame in 2006.  Rest in Peace Skipper and thank you!

Throwback Thursday (3-23-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment was from last year when my friends were in Haddonfield, NJ and stopped at the British Chip Shop for lunch.  Unfortunately I was unable to attend but they did bring me back some fish & chips as well as lots of British snacks from the gift shop across the street.

I hope this will get me through the day...

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (3-22-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's photo is a goofy picture that I found online of Chase and his wife Jen.  I'm pretty sure that i was taken sometime between 2010-2012 when Chase was injured and out for awhile.  I'm not sure who took the pic or added the comedy bits but if I ever find out I will give them the credit that he/she deserves.

Hi everybody,

This month's photo is of the monument to the 111th New York Infantry Regiment.  This monument is located on Cemetery Ridge near the Bryan House.  The regiment fought bravely while repelling Confederate attacks on Cemetery Ridge on both July 2nd and July 3rd.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (3-15-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's photo is a shot of Chase high-fiving former Phillies bench hitter/1st Baseman Mike Sweeney during the 2010 Season.  Sweeney was traded to the Phils in August to play some 1st base and pinch hit during the stretch run.  From all accounts he was a great teammate and I'm sure him and Chase got along well.

Hi everybody,

This month's Charleston photo is a shot of St. Michael's Episcopal Church taken around dusk on Church Street during my trip to Charleston last September.  Charleston is such a beautiful city and I look forward to hopefully returning there before too long.

Throwback Thursday (3-9-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment occurred back in September of 2013 on the way home from my vacation to the Outer Banks.  My friends and I were driving up the Delmarva Peninsula in Virginia when we came across a Stuckey's.  We decided to stop and have a look around.  We didn't get anything but it was neat to visit a place that I have heard so much about.

Those Stuckey's are everywhere.....

Throwback Thursday (3-2-17)

Hi everybody,

This week's Throwback Thursday moment was from a few years ago when I got a giant Mickey Mouse rice krispie treat from some friends who had gone to Disney World.  They had a great time and I had lots of fun eating this huge treat.

It's huge...

Hi everybody,

This week's photo is a shot of Chase with former Phils third baseman Michael Young.  Young (acquired in a trade from the Texas Rangers) played for the Phils for most of the 2013 season until he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers on the last day of August.
