Cesar Hernandez Done for the Season After Thumb Injury

Hi everybody,

After dislocating his left thumb during Sunday afternoon's (September 13th) game against the Chicago Cubs, the Phillies announced yesterday that 2nd baseman Cesar Hernandez was placed on the DL (Disabled List).  They also announced that Hernandez needed surgery to repair ligament damage to his thumb and was finished for the season.

Here are Hernandez's final stats for the 2015 season (127 games played):

Batting Average:   .272 (110 for 405)
OPS:   .687
RBIs:   35
Runs Scored:   57
Home Runs:   1
Singles:   85
Doubles:   20
Triples:   4
Stolen Bases:   19
Walks:   40
Strike Outs:   86

Triple A infielder Chase d'Arnaud is being brought up from Lehigh Valley to take Hernandez's place on the Phils roster although Andres Blanco and Darnell Sweeney are expected to play the majority of the remaining games at 2nd base.

I wish Hernandez a speedy recovery.

Talk to you soon,
Little Chase
