Michael Young and John McDonald Traded

Young and Chase in Spring Training
Hi everybody,

The Phillies made a couple of trades last night.  Michael Young was sent to the Los Angeles Dodgers for minor league pitcher Rob Rasmussen.  John McDonald was traded to the Boston Red Sox for minor league relief pitcher Nefi Ogando.  MIchael Martinez and Cesar Hernandez were promoted from the Triple A Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs to take Young and McDonalds' place on the major league roster.

Here are the final Phillies stats for Young and McDonald:

Michael Young:

Batting Average = .276
RBIs = 42
Home Runs = 8
Runs Scored = 49
Walks = 42
Stolen Bases = 1
Strike Outs = 78

John McDonald:

Batting Average = .174
RBIs = 3
Home Runs = 1
Runs Scored = 5
Walks = 1
Stolen Bases = 0
Strike Outs = 4

I just want to wish both Michael Young and John McDonald well with their new teams.  I didn't get to see much of McDonald but I do like and admire Michael Young.  Good luck to both of you!

Talk to you soon,
Little Chase
