Christmas Update

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to share some pics of my Christmas gifts.  First, I got these delicious Hershey bars in a really cool tin!

I got a new Phillies home jersey.  Makes me really want to start watching them play again!

My friends got me this guy called Metroplex to be my bodyguard at LC's Bar.  You know...in case you guys get too rowdy!  I think I'll just call him Steve.

I also got a bouncer for the bar.  His name is Dalek and he's a great guy with such a sunny disposition and pleasant speaking voice!

Last, but not least, I got this cool chopper....um, wait.  I think I got this thing last year and the year before.  Oh well, it's the thought that counts!

Christmas Shows

Hi everybody,

Christmas is over, but I'm still in the spirit so I decided to watch the Grinch before the big Eagles game last night.  I had it on my DVR and settled in to watch it.  I was horrified when I realized I had recorded the Jim Carrey movie version!!

Oh the horror!!

Ugghh!  What have I done?!
Luckily my friend Ann Onymous had the real Grinch on DVD so I was able to enjoy the classic!

Whew, my night is saved!

I will have to be more careful in the future when I'm setting my DVR!

Hunter Pence Photo(s) of the Month (December)

Looks like Christmas snow to me...
Hi everybody,

It's the holiday season and I can think of no better way to add to the festivities than with the latest edition of the Hunter Pence Photo of the Month.  Enjoy the photos!

Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles

Hi everybody,

I know I normally talk about the Phillies but I wanted to congratulate the Philadelphia Eagles for winning the NFC East Championship last night.  The Eagles (who finished the season at 10-6) will be playing in the first-round of the NFC playoffs on Saturday night at home against the New Orleans Saints.  I know that I will be watching the game and wearing my jersey.  Go Eagles!

I think I'm looking pretty snazzy

A Visit from Little Kringle

Hi everybody,

This Christmas I had a visit from Little Kringle.  He used my Twitter account a few times to chat with my followers and share a few pictures.

He even got a little flirty with some "mistletoe"!

He had some Christmas cookies and eggnog with a little kick.

The whole time I thought I was Little Kringle just spreading some Christmas cheer, but I soon learned the truth when I fell asleep by the tree on Christmas Eve!

I wonder if Little Kringle will be back next Christmas...

My Birthday

Hi everybody,

I was so busy with Christmas preparations that I forgot to post about my birthday!  Coincidentally, it's the same day as Chase's!!  My friends got me a delicious chocolate cake and they gave me this great Phillies sweatshirt!

Christmas Update

Hi everybody,

I wanted to let everyone know what I was up to on Christmas Eve!  I finally got around to wrapping presents.

My friend got me some Krispy Kreme donuts!

I made some more cookies.  You can never have too many Christmas cookies!

These cookie pics seem a bit familiar

Then Ann Onymous gave me a "Christmas Onion" and told me the story of the first Christmas Onion.  I'm not sure that this is a real thing, but I did get a little teary-eyed while she told it.  Of course, that could have just been from the onion fumes!

Maybe I'll tell the story next year!

Gettysburg Photo of the Week (12-27-13)

Hi everybody,

Welcome to the last Gettysburg Photo of the Week of the year.  This picture is a black and white photo of the Virginia Memorial that was taken during my trip to Gettysburg last April.  I hope you all enjoy it.

With the 150th Anniversary year of the Battle of Gettysburg coming to an end, I have decided to change the Gettysburg Photo of the Week to the Gettysburg Photo of the Month.  This change will start in January and I plan to post the monthly picture in the middle of each month.

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (12-25-13)

Hi everybody,

Merry Christmas!  I wish I had a picture of Chase wearing a Santa hat or something, but I don't.  I do have this pic of him staring at his glove as if he had just gotten it as a Christmas gift!

Christmas Update

Hi everybody,

I've been really busy getting ready for Christmas!  I decorated my tree a couple of weeks ago.

I made some Christmas cookies and I plan to make more!

Yum...should I?

I did eat quite a few of them too!

I even got this mistletoe from my friend Ann, but I'm not sure it's the "real deal" because I haven't gotten too many smooches.

You may have noticed I'm wearing a new Santa hat.  It fits me much better than the previous one.  Here's a close-up!

I still need to wrap presents and make more cookies so I'd better get to it!

The Phillies signed starting pitcher Roberto Hernandez to a one-year deal worth $4.5 million.  Hernandez previously pitched for the Cleveland Indians and Tampa Bay Rays and is expected to be the Phils fifth starter.

Gettysburg Photo of the Week (12-13-13)

Hi everybody,

It's been cold all week but maybe this picture of Gettysburg in warmer weather will give us visions of Spring.  In any case it is a cool picture of the Pennsylvania Memorial taken from a distance.  Hope you all enjoy it!

Roy Halladay Is Retiring

Gonna miss you, Doc.....
Hi everybody,

Today is a sad day as former Phillies Ace Roy Halladay announced his retirement.  Halladay played for the Phillies for four seasons from 2010-2013.  I am really going to miss seeing Doc every 5th day pitching for the Phils.  He is a class act and I wish him all the best.

Miss the days of the Four Aces

Erik Kratz Traded

Hi everybody,

Phillies backup catcher Erik Kratz and minor league pitcher Rob Rasmussen were traded to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday (12/3) for right-handed pitcher Brad Lincoln.  The Phils also signed free-agent catcher Wil Nieves to replace Kratz.  I just wanted to wish Kratz all the best in Toronto.

We'll always have turkey bacon......
