Chase Utley Photo of the Week (2-29-12)

Hi everybody,

It's time for another Chase Utley Photo of the Week.  This is a very special one because it's Leap Day!  Woohoo!!  I decided to go with another picture from Spring Training.  Shane Victorino is also in the photo as a Leap Day bonus!  Hope you all enjoy!

It looks like they're having fun...well, Shane is anyway.

Weekend Recap

Hi everybody,

Hope everyone had a fun weekend.  I meant to post yesterday but I was unable to until today.  My weekend was pretty quiet.  Just relaxing and thinking about the Phillies season starting.  Only a few days until the first televised Spring Training game on Saturday against the Yankees.  You know I will be watching...Yay!!!  We will unfortunately see Raul Ibanez on the opposing side since he now plays for the stinkin' Yankees.  I still won't boo him though because he is a good guy.

I did have friends over Saturday night. My friend who sent me the naughty Chase Utley photos and "convinced" me to do Ladies Night (coming soon) made Taco Cupcakes.  I know they sound strange but they were really good. She gave me some leftovers and I ate them again on Sunday.

They would be even better with root beer

Talkin' Phils with Little Chase (2-18-12)

Hi everybody,

Spring Training is almost here and I'm so excited!  Yay!!!  The Phils don't officially start until tomorrow but a lot of the players are already there.  This will be the start of more frequent Talkin' Phils posts.  Later in the week I will discuss a lot of the Phillies moves in the offseason and where some of the former Phils ended up.

Until Spring Training starts, I decided to kill some time by playing some MLB2K11 on my Playstation 3.

Time to hit a homer!
I decided to see how Chase would do as a pitcher since I highly doubt that Charlie Manuel would ever put him on the mound in a real game.

Strike him out Chase!
The game was fun but it can't beat real baseball.  Two weeks from today will be the first preseason game against the Yankees.  I can't wait!!!

Valentine's Day After

Hi everybody,
Nadia G.

Hope you all had a great time yesterday.  Love has certainly been in the air lately and I feel that it may have bitten me too.  I was watching television this past weekend and I found this show on The Cooking Channel called Bitchin' Kitchen with Nadia G.  It was an interesting show and that Nadia G. is a real tomato.  She is some kinda dish and she's got some nice gams too!

Va-va-voom!!!

I decided to get her some candy for Valentine's Day but before I could send it....I got hungry. :(

Sigh....Oh well.

An Announcement

Hi everybody,

It's come to my attention, after much web-surfing, that many female fans (and probably a few guys) like Chase Utley for more than his playing skills.  I first found general comments calling him things like "foxy" and "dreamy".  I then dug a little deeper on Facebook and found comments like these:

"WOW!! Just look at that face!!!!"
"meeeeeow CHASE!"
"No disrespect to Jen Utley or my husband - but this man is frakkin' hot!"
"YUMMY!!!!"
"You're soooooooo hot, it's ridiculous!!!!!!!!!"

I then found this comment from another site and it's even worse:

"I want to have *** *** with Chase Utley in the dugout after a sweep of the Mets. Just before he ******** *** he says “world ****** champions” in my ear in a whisper."

OMG!!!

And then there is my friend who keeps sending me pictures all the time of his bu....err...not playing baseball.  Now I understand what she was up to.  Here are just three that I posted as Chase Utley Photos of the Week:

She is demanding that I post more.  After much deliberation, I have come up with a compromise.  Coming soon to my blog will be a new feature called Ladies' Night...a special time for all you fans of the female persuasion who also enjoy these things about Chase!  I am not sure I approve but......

Chase Utley Photo of the Week (2-8-12)

Hi everybody,

It's the second Wednesday of February so that means that it is time for another Chase Utley Photo of the Week!  Boy, time sure flies.  Once again this picture was provided by my friend.

I really don't understand why she keeps sending me pictures like this.  He's not batting or fielding!  I have to ask her.

LC's Root Beer Review (2-7-12): IBC Root Beer

Hi everybody,

It's time once again for another LC's Root Beer Review.  LC stands for me....Little Chase!  As always, I am rating root beers with grades A through F under four categories:

1) Style of the bottle & cap
2) Smell
3) Smoothness
4) Taste

This time I am going to review IBC Root Beer.  IBC first appeared in St. Louis, Missouri when it was founded in 1919.  After many ownership changes, it is now part of the same company that owns Dr. Pepper & Seven Up.

1) Style of the bottle & cap:

I have mixed feelings about the bottle & cap style of this brew.  I am not very thrilled with the bottle.  It is dark and lacking any color.  Even though I do like the detail of the bottle I wish that there was some color incorporated into it.  However, I do like the cap.  It is a nice reddish color and is fairly informative. I would give the bottle & cap a:    B-

2) Smell:

IBC smells great. The rich aroma makes me want to grab a second bottle the minute I finish downing the first one.  I would give the smell an:   A+

3) Smoothness:

IBC goes down easy and feels good doing it.  I would give the Smoothness an:   A+

4) Taste:

IBC really tastes good and I enjoyed drinking it. It pairs well with a big greasy pizza steak and I imagine that it would also be good with pizza.  I would give the Taste an:   A-

Final Grade:   A-

If you can find IBC at the store, I would recommend it even though it doesn't have the most exciting bottle  Thanks for reading the latest LC's Root Beer Review!  Reviews will be more frequent in the coming weeks and months so please keep looking for them.

SuperBowl Sunday

Hi everybody,

I hope you all are having a fun weekend.  Settling down to watch the "Big Game" with my pizza steak and cheese fries.  I'm not a big football fan but I figure that I should watch it anyway.  At least it is something to do until the Phils start Spring Training.  Enjoy the game and the rest of your weekend.
